About this Publication

December 2024 general elections, the pre-election environment is marked by intense political activity and strategic planning by key stakeholders. Gender Center for Empowering Development is actively monitoring the political landscape to assess the inclusion of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in the electoral process. Through partnerships with the European Union, USAID, and International Republican Institute, GenCED is documenting issues of representation, accessibility, and incidents of violence, producing periodic reports before, during, and after the elections.

The report also highlights the critical role of political party manifesto committees in shaping campaign priorities and national policy direction. Despite some increase in committee sizes, major parties like the New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress continue to show limited gender and disability inclusion. Given that these committees influence policy promises and electoral choices, their lack of diversity risks reinforcing existing inequalities and excluding key demographic voices from national decision-making.
